The Horse in Ballet to Music
In 2003 the equestrian rider Bartabas, founded a new project and took over the royal stables at Versailles as the venue for his 21st century equine choreography.
If you stay overnight on the weekend at Versailles then you have the opportunity to witness this extraordinary performance called La Voie de l’écuyer. It is presented in a new revamped version each year, combining the art of dressage, song, artistic fencing, Kyudo – Japanese archery – and dance.
On Saturday and Sundays these one hour performances are at 3 pm and 6 pm for a cost of only 25 euros.
The public can also attend the Academy’s morning horse training sessions, Les Matinales des écuyers (Riding Matinees) which are on at Saturdays and Sundays at 11.15 am and on some Thursday mornings. (if you buy tickets to this morning training session you can get free access to the stables from 10.45 am and after the presentation too
