Where’s this stunning place I hear you ask? Same place as my last post. Château de Maintenon in France. This outstanding aqueduct was built in 1685 by VAUBAN (King Louis the 16th’s military adviser and superintendent of just about everything in France) Versailles had no water source so this aqueduct fed water from the nearby Eure river up to Versailles to feed the 1,400 fountains and water the 20,000 people who lived on the estate. Swipe to see what a marvel it still is. I want to sit surrounded by those ducks and sketch it in real life asap on a sketching tour!
